The Five Strands

The Strategic Leadership Plan (or SLP for short) was developed by a committee of Shelby County stakeholders: teachers, administrators, students, parents and residents. It was first implemented in 2013. The SLP is both a roadmap of where we have come as well as the blueprint of how our district will achieve "future ready learning" for the students of Shelby County.  It is also a living, breathing document that is flexible and open to revision as technology improves and the needs of our community change.  Last but not least, the SLP ultimately serves our district vision of "Inspired Learning, Leading, and Living."

For the sake of focus, the SLP consists of five strands shown above.  These website pages will explain what each strand is, define our upcoming goals in that strand, and highlight student and staff accomplishments during our SLP journey.

Throughout the site, we use certain educational phrases and words.  Many are linked to a glossary of terms, available here.
